A 16-year-old Houston girl says she found out she was drugged and raped via social media.

While it is not our policy to disclose the identity of rape victims, the teen, along with her mother’s blessing, does not want to hide her identity. Jada told KHOU 11 that she has nothing to hide, and wants the people who did this to be caught.

From KHOU 11:

A young girl named Jada never thought twice about accepting what seemed like a harmless impromptu invite to the home of a friend of a friend last month. “Just kids hanging out,” said Jada. “I just got swooped into it.”

But what happened inside the home became a nightmare for the 16-year-old high school junior. “I had no control,” said Jada. “I didn’t tell anyone to take my clothes off and do what they did to me.”

Jada said the teenage boy hosting the gathering offered her a drink of punch. She believes he spiked it with a drug. She claims she passed out and had no clue about what had happened until disturbing tweets, pictures and videos started to appear on social media.

Jada said she was raped that night. Kids have been sharing them with their cell phones.

“No one’s daughter deserved this,” said Jada’s mother. “No human being deserved this.”

Jada found out about the incident after her peers started posting videos, images and tweets using the hashtag #jadapose on social media mocking the rape.

Twitter users have since taken over the hashtag to talk about how despicable the teens are for doing such a thing. Police are investigating Jada’s claims.

It is a sad day when not only can a young girl get raped, but her peers make fun of a very emotionally taxing ordeal. We commend Jada for her bravery in coming forward.

Who’s responsible for the children’s behavior? Is it the parents’ fault?
