At just 16-years-old, Toronto’s own Ebony Oshunrinde – aka Wondagurl – produced a beat that made its way onto Jay-Z’s new album!

Wondagurl has been producing since the tender age of nine.

After sending of one of her instrumentals to rapper Travis Scott, and it ended up being used for the song “Crown,” off Jay-Z new LP Magna Carta Holy Grail.

From Clutch:

When she was 14, Oshunrinde entered Toronto’s Battle of the Beatmakers contest and made it to the quarterfinals. Although she didn’t win, she kept trying, and took home the trophy a year later.

Earlier this year she sent a beat to Houston rapper Travis Scott who passed the track onto to Jay-Z. A few days later, Scott sent Wondagurl a text saying, “I’m about to change your life.”

He did. Although Oshunrinde hasn’t met Jay-Z yet, since news of the 16-year-old’s skills came to light, she’s been garnering a lot more interest from artists looking for a producer.
