A song in memory of Trayvon Martin
There are still quite a few of us who remain focused on the Trayvon Martin incident despite his killer walking free.
Gina Loring is one of them.
The Los Angeles-based singer’s track, “For Trayvon Martin,” explores the idea of what the young man could’ve been had he not been killed last year.
In a five-minute video, Loring passionately sings:
You were somebody’s baby,
You were somebody’s child,
Now you are my angel watching from the sky
The video shows photos of celebrities first at age 17, then now with their occupations highlighted in text below their current picture.
A clear picture of each person’s accomplishments is presented, those of which would have never happened had their lives been cut short.
