Putting Donald Trump’s Hateful Opportunism In Perspective

Donald Trump’s rhetoric this week, specifically as related to the massacre at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando that left 49 people dead, shows that, in politics, literally anything goes.

The opportunity for a stagnant or sinking politician to latch on to a tragedy could be compared to a hitchhiker walking along a mostly desolate highway. The capacity to handle approaching obstacles dwindles as time goes on, whether it be fatigue, thirst or mind-numbing boredom. In politics, you can switch the last two out for a never-ending search for various funds and a constant need to replace the almost worthless band-aids that fail to cover the worsening wounds of society.

Hillary Clinton Isn’t Backing Away From The Term ‘Radical Islamism’

One criticism conservatives have consistently held against President Obama and his supporters is regarding their refusal to label acts of violence and murder conducted specifically by members of the Muslim faith as “Radical Islamism/Jihadism.” The reasoning for that decision is to prevent the world from viewing one of it’s largest religions as a catalyst for terror and hate simply from the acts of a fringe population within it. It’s also to move away from the idea that no other members of other religions exhibit violent behavior (I’m looking at you Christianity).

St. Louis Police Have paid $4.7 Million In Lawsuits Since 2010

If you want to find out the truth, sometimes all you have to do is follow the money. This concept works in more ways than one would probably expect, including tracking the severity of police wrongdoings and a lack of accountability.

Following a report on the St. Louis Police Department, it was found by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the department has paid $4.7 million in settlements to the families of victims since 2010.
