On April 21st, we lost a legend in Prince, and we are still feeling the aftermath of his passing.

In the honor of the prolific singer, actor, and performer, the Broadway cast of The Color of Purple performed “Purple Rain”.  Cynthia Erivo and Jennifer Hudson led with their powerful vocals and everyone in the audience and on stage accompanied them. We never thought that we would lose Prince. He felt like a mythological being who would always be with us. In addition to the outpours of remembrance from entertainers, the I-35W bridge in Minneapolis burned bright with purple lights. MTV actually started playing music videos again and aired Prince videos all day. Prince will remain a legend, and an icon that all artists should aspire to.
