A Chicago-based organization is seeking the “reclaim Afrikan Heritage in America” with their upcoming event.

The BRIJ (Bridging Relationships in Justice) Fund, along with The Inner City Studies Majors Club & The Black Mall, will hold their first bi-monthly mixer series on Saturday Feb. 22 from 10-4pm.

From The Black Mall:

Join us as we unearth forgotten Black history and take part in a movement to reclaim Black Culture from those who further appropriate it. By creating a traditional marketplace feel for family gathering, Afrikan Heritage 365 will combine an interactive grassroots community pledge drive streaming live from gigity.tv and will feature compelling guests, content and performances with the goal of recruiting BRIJ stakeholders into our community cooperative.
