Chris Brown enters rehab after recent domestic dispute, faces possible prison time
Chris Brown has checked into rehab amid a recent altercation with a man this past weekend. The star wants to “gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior.”
Brown was arrested Sunday on an assault charge, and could face possible prison time.
“Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility,” said a statement Tuesday night from his representative. “His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point.”
The 24-year-old star has presented no indication that he has a drug problem. Anger management is moreso the issue.
The simple assault charge is categorized as a misdemeanor, but since Brown is currently on probation for his 2009 assault on Rihanna, it could land him in jail.
He could face up to four years in prison if found guilty of violating his felony probation.
Brown ‘s probation status hearing is on November 20.
