Yesterday we reported on the case of Ethan Couch, the 16-year-old who admitted to intoxicated manslaughter of four people. only to be sentenced to ten years probation after his lawyer successfully argued that Couch suffered from “affluenza,” or having “too much” privilege. Now, prosecutors are still hoping that Couch, who had a blood-alcohol level of .24 (three times the legal limit) at the time, will serve jail time.

The Tarrant County District Attorney’s office has asked a juvenile judge to incarcerate Ethan Couch, 16, on two counts of intoxication assault for which there has been no verdict.

“The 16-year-old admitted his guilt in four cases of intoxication manslaughter and two cases of intoxication assault. There has been no verdict formally entered. Every case deserves a verdict,” District Attorney Joe Shannon said in a statement.

Although Couch and his family still face potential civil suits from the families of the four people who died, this is the only chance Couch might serve jail time.
