#Flawless: Leaked Beyoncé Photos Spark Debate On Shaming
From Telegraph:
Unretouched images of the Queen of Pop have been leaked. Fan site The Beyoncé World has published photos they claimed were from Beyoncé’s 2013 L’Oreal ad campaign and show the singer with wearing her natural skin.
Cue tweets from fans about how the singer looks #flawless no matter what, tweets from feminists about the fashion world’s systematic obsession with photoshopping, and tweets from a lot of nasty people about how awful Beyoncé looks without the clever handiwork of an editor.
This onslaught of negative tweets led Beyoncé World to remove the pictures almost immediately, though they were then republished byComplex.com.
“We don’t want to cause any drama, nor do we wish to start fan wars,” said Beyoncé World in statement. “Some of the things we have seen posted were just horrible, and we don’t want any parts of it. We were just posting the photos to share the fact that our queen is naturally beautiful, at the same time she is just a regular woman.”
