Ramona Parker, more commonly known as Ms. Melodie, has died.

She was a member of Boogie Down Productions and had been married to BDP frontman, KRS-ONE.

Ms. Melodie, an influential female emcee, will most likely be remembered by her verse in the hip-hop classic, “Self-Destruction,” and her appearance in Queen Latifah’s “Ladies First” video.

May she rest in peace.
