I know that here on the Black Youth Project we blog about very heavy topics—incarceration, spousal abuse, racism, etc. So, today I want to share a YouTube’s video that made me have what I call belly laughs. It is a video that tells the story of the heroines of the movement for freedom. It features Betty Shabazz, Coretta Scott King, Winne Mandela, Maya Angelou, and Rosa Parks. It also features a black Marilyn Monroe as a pun on The Real House Wives of Atlanta. To say the least, I found the video to be funny. But, many people have found it to be insensitive and not funny. What do you think?

I should also mention that the group who wrote the skit is Elite Delta Force 3 which “is an all female women of color sketch group. With an arsenal of impressions and original characters these ladies continue to shock and awe audiences with their brand of comedy.”
