A graphic video was released by Tulsa police on Monday that showed the shooting of an unarmed black man by one of their officers.

Officer Betty Shelby was one of the officers who arrived on the scene after receiving a call of a stopped vehicle in the middle of the road. The driver was Terence Crutcher, 40, whose car was allegedly stalled.

Helicopter footage shows four officers on the scene while Crutcher walks away from them with his hands raised. The officers followed him and audio from the helicopter says, “That looks like a bad dude too. He might be on something.”

That’s when Crutcher can be seen falling to the ground after being tasered by one officer and shot once by Officer Shelby.

“I’m going to tell you right now that there was no gun on the suspect or in the suspect’s vehicle,” said Police Chief Chuck Jordan. “I want to assure our community and I want to assure all of you and people  across the nation who are going to be looking at this: we will achieve justice.”

During a press conference, Crutcher’s sister spoke to the media about her late twin brother. The family wants charges to be held against Shelby for killing Crutcher.

“We saw that Terence did not have any weapon. Terence did not make any sudden movements. We saw that Terence was not being belligerent,” said Damario Solomon-Simmons, one of the attorneys for the family.

“We ask for facts, we ask for answers, and we clearly got it through the video and we are devastated,” Tiffany Crutcher said. “The entire family is devastated.”

Crutcher was having car trouble and instead of being helped by police, he was shot dead.  Moments like this is why athletes are protesting the National Anthem by kneeling and raising their fists in the air.
