When Laura Ingraham, a Fox News host, vilified Lebron James and his remarks on President Donald Trump by telling him to “shut up and dribble,” she unknowingly strengthened a growing political consciousness among athletes in the age of Trump.

Showtime will be creating a documentary series with a title inspired by the phrase on sports’ role in political culture. Lebron James is confirmed to executively produce, and Showtime president David Nevins annouced the documentary series will be titled Shut Up and Dribble according to Variety.

This is one of the latest political projects James has embarked on. He recently opened the “I Promise” school in his hometown of Akron, Ohio, which ensures free tuition, meals and bicycles to all students.

Nevins explained in the announcement, “If being a star athlete is inherently a political experience, Shut Up and Dribble tells that complex and dramatic story from the past to the present and from the inside out… LeBron James is one of many competitors whose place in the spotlight has led not to silence but perspective, and he, Maverick Carter and Gotham Chopra have given us an important, insightful docuseries that should bring their fans and fellow citizens to a higher level of discourse, rather than the dismissal satirized in the title.”

Shut Up and Dribble will premiere in October.
