John Spooner Found Guilty for the Murder of 13-Year Old Darius Simmons
76-year old John Spooner has been found guilty of intentional homicide in the tragic shooting death of 13-year old Darius Simmons.
It took a jury less than two hours to reach a verdict.
The jury began hearing testimony Tuesday morning and was handed the case around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday.
The judge was notified of a verdict around 1:10 p.m. and was read around 1:50 p.m.
WISN 12 News reporter Christina Palladino reported Tuesday that surveillance video from Spooner’s home was played several times in court, showing what appears to be Spooner approaching Simmons with a gun.
It was very difficult for the family of Simmons’ family to watch and then later talk about on the stand, Palladino reported.
We are relieved to hear that this man got the verdict he deserved.
