The jury in the murder trial of a Florida man accused of killing a 17-year-old unarmed teenager during a dispute over loud music resumed deliberations Thursday.

The jury initially requested to see surveillance video from the gas station where Michael Dunn fired 9 shots into Jordan Davis’ vehicle in November 2012. The 20 minutes of footage from multiple angles was shortened and slated to be shown in court.

From CNN:

Dunn, 47, faces five charges, including a murder charge and three counts of attempted murder. Prosecutors accuse him of opening fire on an SUV full of teenagers in November 2012, killing high school student Davis.

In closing arguments Wednesday, prosecutors said inconsistencies between Dunn’s words and actions undermined his assertion he acted in self-defense when he fatally shot the teen.

His attorney countered the state failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt his client was guilty. He pleaded with jurors to find Dunn not guilty.

During Tuesday’s testimony, Dunn said he fired in self-defense after being threatened by Davis with a gun. “My intent was to stop the attack, not necessarily end a life,” he said. “It just worked out that way.”

Dunn fired 10 shots total at the SUV, three of them while the car was fleeing. Opting not to take cover, he opened his car door. Detectives have testified that no weapon was found on Davis or in the vehicle.

If found guilty he faces up to life in prison.
