Rapper Kanye West pleaded no contest to battery charges against a photographer. Last summer, West attacked a photographer at LAX. Unfortunately for West, the confrontation with the paparazzi was caught on tape.

The photographer is seen asking West to talk to him. In response, West tells the photographer not to talk to him and says that the photographer is trying to get him in trouble. A physical altercation ensures. West received probation.

From CNN:

Judge Alan Rubin sentenced West to serve two years’ probation for the misdemeanor battery conviction. He must attend 24 anger management sessions, perform 250 hours of community service and pay restitution to the victim.

Rubin said he will review the community service to make sure he is getting no special treatment.

Photographer Daniel Ramos told the judge he wanted West thrown in jail.

“I was only doing my job, and he broke the law,” Ramos said. “I believe that if I did what he did to me, I would have been put behind bars.”

The incident was caught on camera, leaving West with the possibility of a tough trial. If he did not accept the plea deal he could’ve faced possible jail time.

West was not required to appear in court for the misdemeanor charge.
