Remember a couple months ago when I both asked and answered the question “What The F&%^$ Happened” to Lauryn Hill?

Well, in case you didn’t get around to reading that article, I’ll briefly recap. Lauryn Hill rose to superstardom after the one-two punch of The Fugees’ The Score and her seminal solo debut album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. However, shady friends and the incredible pressure and stress that come with fame and the music industry basically broke Ms. Hill in half, leading to a painfully emotional and bizarre (but actually good) Unplugged collection, a slew of disastrous concerts and public appearances, and then silence. Lauryn Hill seemed to have disappeared from the public eye forever…

…until yesterday.

The silence will finally be broken. Guerrilla Union, the promoters behind the annual travelling Hip Hop extravaganza that is Rock The Bells, announced earlier this week that Lauryn Hill is officially the latest addition to a line-up that includes The incomparable Wu-Tang Clan (performing every track from 36 Chambers), A Tribe Called Quest (performing their incredible Midnight Marauders album in its entirety), Snoop Dogg (who’s bringing the Dogg Pound, RBX and Lady of Rage along to perform all of his classic 1993 debut album Doggystyle), Rakim (who will be performing all of Paid in Full), and KRS One (performing all of Criminal Minded).

Yeah, I know.

This is seriously the kind of lineup that’ll make even the most jaded Hip Hop head’s head explode! While it doesn’t seem as though Ms. Hill will follow the path of her tour mates and perform The Miseducation in its entirety (which was the initial rumor travelling across the message boards), she is expected to give the fans a hefty helping of tracks from that album, as well as some of her best work with the Fugees.

Yeah, I know.

The only bad news is that Rock The Bells will only be coming to four cities this year; New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles and San Francisco. In other words, the Rock The Bells peeps are showing absolutely, positively NO LOVE for the Midwest this year.

Yeah, I know.

So check out the full lineup below, and maybe start planning that road trip, because this is shaping up to be one hell of a show.
