Christopher LeDay didn’t film Alton Sterling’s death, but he’s been cited as the person responsible for it spreading to a national level. As a result, he was arrested the next day as he walked into work at a private security firm at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, GA.

While LeDay was later released after paying a fine for traffic violations, he found that his job may be in danger. He’s now fighting in court to keep it after claiming guards wouldn’t let him in when he tried to go back, according to WSB-TV.

“They never showed a warrant for an assault to my client, in fact my client was held in DeKalb County Jail for at least 26 hours and they never produced a warrant,” said his attorney Tiffany Simmons.

“He should not be penalized or possibly retaliated against, he should not be embarrassed at his place of employment for doing what is right,” she continued.

If this is truly an example of a man being targeted for exposing the wrongdoings of the police, it goes to show how far our “justice system” will go to maintain a wall of police secrecy.
