A Memphis kindergarten teacher has been suspended without pay after posting a series of disturbing comments on her facebook page.
Her comments insult her students, suggest that she physically assaulted them, and attack their parents for criticising her work.
“How bout I blasted both of them. The girl in my class hair is nappy almost every day and the boy wears dirty clothes, face nasty and can’t even read. They didn’t bother nobody else when I got through with them,” Rainshaven Elementary School teacher Tameka Gatewood(pictured) posted to her Facebook wall in reference to a fight between two of her students.
Another post apparently threatens the children’s parents for complaining about her teaching: “If another parent tell me it’s my job to teach their children, it’s gonna be po po time.”
One even jokingly suggests using guns as a means to solving conflict. “What do you think you’re supposed to do? Bang! Bang! Shoot ‘em up dammit! Just kidding!! For real tho – slap their ass back then Bang! Bang! Shoot ‘em up dammit.”
According to reports, Tameka Gatewood has a history of infractions and disciplinary issues.
Many are now calling for the Memphis School District to begin monitoring their employees’ facebook pages.
Are you shocked that a teacher would feel this way about their students?
Is it appropriate for a school district to monitor an educator’s facebook page?
