Today is National Coming Out Day.  Millions of members of the LGBTQ community and its allies will celebrate, reflect upon and contemplate the moment when they came out. Many won’t either because they have yet to do so. Whatever your decision, remember that it’s personal and for YOU to make alone.

This is supposed to be a day of celebration. Celebration of the accomplishments of the LGBTQ community and a celebration of individual identity.

Whether you’re gay, straight, bisexual, queer or questioning, it’s important to support and encourage individuality, tolerance and acceptance.

On behalf of the Black Youth Project, I’d like to wish everyone a safe, productive, fun-filled National Coming Out Day.

If you have coming out stories that you’d like to share, please email us at info@blackyouthproject.com.
