A new app created by the Juvenile Justice Council is seeking to clear the path for juveniles with criminal records. Expunge.io seeks to inform juveniles about the importance of erasing their criminal backgrounds.

A juvenile record is a barrier to employment and education. Luckily, juvenile records can be erased through the expungement process. However, while many people qualify to have their records expunged, few people apply for expungement. This web app aims to clarify expungement, with the hope of more people getting their records erased!

A report by WBEZ revealed just how hard it was for juveniles to gain employment due to their records. The criminal offenses are often minor, but have major results. The app was created by Cathy Deng and young members of the Mikva Challenge Juvenile Justice Council in hopes of prevention juvenile delinquency, through federal prevention programs and activities.
