Maaaan…Rush Limbaugh is gonna be pissed!

According to Sabrina Tavernise of the New York Times, Minorities are far outpacing whites in terms of population growth in America’s biggest cities.

She writes:

Hispanics and Asians led population growth in the country’s 100 largest metropolitan areas over the past decade, growing by 41 percent and 43 percent respectively. The population of blacks grew by 12 percent, and the aging white population was largely flat, increasing by less than 1 percent.

William H. Frey, a demographer at the Brookings Institution and the author of the report, also said the United States had reached a demographic milestone: About half of all recent births were to minority parents, a shift that will have broad policy implications in the years to come.

How this monumental development will impact America in the future is anyone’s guess. But this phenomenon shows absolutely no signs of letting up. And something tells us this development may prove (or already prove) influential in future and recent legislation regarding important issues like immigration, voting rights, gerrymandering and education, just to name a few.

And it probably explains these charming sentiments as well.
