“Preachers of L.A.?” Good for the black church?
Everyone knows the power of the black church as Christianity is the foundation for many African Americans.
More of America will get to take a look at the religious haven thanks to a new reality television series.
Preachers of L.A. follows the lives of six high-profile pastors from Los Angeles.
From pro skateboarder Pastor Jay Haizlip to Grace Jones’ brother Bishop Noel Jones to Bishop Clarence McClendon, who reaches 250 million homes via international broadcast each week, Preachers of L.A.will explore the human side of these ambitious and very powerful men of faith.
Bishop Noel Jones recently appeared on ABC’s Nightline. When asked what he hopes people will get out of the show he said that he wanted them to understand that “even the people you put on pedestals have to deal with the same problems you have to deal with.”
Preachers of L.A. premieres Wednesday at 10/9c on Oxygen.
