By now most of you have heard or heard about Ray J’s (Brandy’s brother) drunken “Money Team” rant. If you haven’t let me give you a quick recap. Rapper Fabolous went on Twitter and clowned Ray J for singing a song for Floyd MayWeather at his mansion. Apparently Ray J felt like Fab tried to emasculate him via the social networking site. He aired his frustrations on New York’s Power 105.1 radio station. For more than 5 minutes Ray J talked about how much of a man he was because he had “an indoor pool and outdoor pool, and seven new Rolls Royces outside”. All of this bragging got me thinking about how we qualify success in our society. Below is a poem I wrote inspired by Ray J aka Willie Norwood Jr. aka Brandy’s brother.

LOOK AT WHAT I GOT

When I grow  I want to be….society’s spitting image of success

I would like to dine at the swankiest restaurants with my Barbie doll with  fake breasts

I want to buy a house in Beverly Hills and the Hamptons

Throw mad parties at my mansion throw single dollar bills at hookers dancing on my private stripper pole on the top of my penthouse suit on the lower west side of Manhatten

Yea that’s what I wanna do.

I want to embezzle my way the top of Wall Street

Buy a Senate seat and retire on the beach with my international bank accounts full of money I can’t count so I just bought a machine to do it for me.

When I grow  I want to be….society’s spitting image of success

I want to push a Lexus on Monday, a Maybach on Tuesday, Hummer on Wednesday for my 5-6 groupies.

I want to pop crystal and pour it on the ground to show you how much money I have

I want to buy houses for my family and entourage

And a 20 car garage for all my different automobiles

When I grow  I want to be….society’s spitting image of success

I want to adopt a little kid from Africa because it’s the cool thing to  do

If my neighbors get one kid I’ll get two

I buy designers and brands of shit I can’t even pronounce

But the only thing that matters is the fact that you aint got this

I take pictures of my stacks of money wrapped up in rubber bands that still have the cocaine residue on it, upload it to Facebook and invite you to envy me

Cuz  I’m the worlds MVP

When I grow  I want to be….society’s spitting image of success

Because as my inferiority complex is the largest asset I own

I value worldly possessions to enhance my masculinity.

I have sex with currency to atone for my intellectual virginity

I gloat and brag because I’m unaware that I’m tap dancing on worldwide stage of ignorance.
