Cannon Lambert, attorney for Bland’s family, has informed members of the media that her family has settled a wrongful death lawsuit for $1.9 million.

Texas Department of Public Safety will pay the maximum of $100,000, according to ABC 13. 

CNN reports that the details of the settlement were finalized on Wednesday night. It will also lead to several changes in procedures at Waller County, Texas, where Bland was found dead in her jail cell following her arrest in July 2015.
