Dr. Dre truly believes in sharing the wealth. The Compton native and near-billionaire has just written a huge check to help build a new performing arts center at Compton High School. CBS reports that the music mogul has pledged a whopping $10 million to the center’s construction, which would hopefully start in 2020.
Ramsey Orta filmed Eric Garner being choked to death by New York police officers. Orta is now facing four years in prison after taking a plea deal on gun and drug charges that he feels were brought against him in retaliation and plans to take the city of New York to prove it. There’s also $10 million on the line, according to the New York Post.
More than 50 Head Start programs were forced to shut their doors on October 1 as a result of the shutdown.
But two philanthropists have donated $10 million to keep the nation’s Head Start programs running.
Laura and John Arnold offered the emergency funding to the National Head Start Association so the programs can remain open.
