Charges Won’t Be Held Against Parents of 3-Year-Old Who Fell Into Gorilla Habitat

After video was released of a three-year-old falling into a gorilla habitat at the Cincinnati Zoo, leading to the 17-year-old Silverback gorilla being shot and killed by zookeepers, no one truly knew what the next steps should be. Some called for the end of zoos while others demanded that the parents of the child be charged with neglect.

Ohio Prosecuting Attorney Joseph Deters has officially made a decision and chosen to not charge the parents in the incident. 

Washington D.C. Has More Homeless Kids and Parents Than Single Adults

Homelessness plagues people in localities across nearly the entire world. While it’s nothing new, those that study it are growing concerned because it seems to be changing for the worse over time.

The Washington Post reports that there are now more homeless children and parents in Washington D.C. than single adults, which changes what many considered to be the face of homelessness.

Parents protest ‘school-to-prison’ pipeline education in New Orleans charter school


Parents of some New Orleans students have pulled their children out of school and are protesting the “school-to-prison” pipeline approach to the educational experiences of their children.

About 12 families are protesting the practices of three New Orleans charter schools run by Collegiate Academies, due to what they believe is an environment not conducive to learning and preparing their children for college.

Parents upset at approved Trayvon Martin Day


Parents at a Pittsburgh high school were upset at an approved school theme in honor of Trayvon Martin.

The Carrick High School homecoming committee and school voted to allow the theme as part of the school’s spirit week.

Parents did not agree with children being encouraged to wear hoodies to school during the day’s theme.
