GOP Looks To Undo Michelle Obama’s School Lunch Program

As part of her campaign to help fight childhood obesity, Michelle Obama introduced the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act during the 2012-2013 school-year. Under this program, school lunches became healthier by replacing high sodium and otherwise unhealthy foods with fruits and other options.

Many students wondered what happened to their favorite snacks and GOP lawmakers were infuriated at what they considered government over-involvement. With a new administration in the White House, they’re looking to force Obama’s system out and re-establish the old guard.
