Two Orlando police officers had no idea what they were in for when they pulled over a driver on June 19. A brief clip of footage from a body camera from one of the officers has been made public and revealed that the driver was none other than Aramis Ayala, the first and only Black woman state attorney in Florida.
A judge has ruled that Marissa Alexander can remain free on bond after Florida State Attorney Angela Corey filed a motion to revoke her bond.
Circuit Judge James Daniel made it clear on Friday that the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office erred in granting Alexander permission to leave home detention. Alexander’s freedom until her new trial is contingent upon her remaining at her home of detention.
