An amazing Newsweek article by Joshua DuBios highlights the struggles of black men in America, and the horrific consequences of their large-scale incarceration.

According to the article, there are more black men incarcerated, on probation, or on parole than there were slaves in the 1850s.

DuBios spoke with a variety of individuals working relentlessly to address this crisis, including Ben Jealous, Michelle Alexander, and Shawn Dove; manager of Open Society’s Campaign for Black Male Achievement.

It a fascinating report that hopefully inspire more of us to stand up and join the fight for our young men.
