11-Year Old Dovonta Andrews Is Shot While Shielding 5-Year Old Friend from Bullet
11-year old Dovonta Andrews is recovering from a bullet wound he sustained after shielding his 5-year old friend with his body.
The boys were standing on a porch when an argument broke out and someone began shooting.
Dovonta pushed his friend out of the way, and a bullet went through his arm.
“I pushed my little friend to get out of the way,” Andrews told WDIV. “Then the bullet hit me.”
The bullet went completely through his arm, according to the Detroit Free Press. He was brought to a local hospital with a 30-year-old man who was also shot. Now, Andrews is back home recuperating.
Police are still investigating the case, and no arrests have been made.

We’re so thankful that both Dovonta and his friend are going to be alright.
He truly is a brave young man, but this never should have happened.
