When Does Size Matter? When HIV/AIDS Rates Keep Rising, and Black Youth Keep Dying
A new study put out by Hunter College’s Center for HIV Educational Studies and Training, introduces an idea that if men have large sexual organs, then they are less likely to wear condoms, and subsequently more likely to catch HIV/AIDS. In westernized and American pop-culture, there is music, movies, and radio references that allude to the idea that having a large “you-know-what” is somehow desired. To take this idea a step deeper, black men in America (whose bodies have been exoticized and objectified for centuries), have been the individuals stereotyped to have the largest sized “fill in what ever euphemism you prefer” out of any other race. If there is any legitimacy behind this study, then I believe it should be used as a launching point for awareness in black and brown communities.
