The dismembered bodies of 21-year-olds Ramon Smith and Jarron Moreland were found in the bottom of an Oklahoma City pond just four days after their families reported the two men missing. The police arrested Kevin Garcia-Boettler, 22; Johnny Shane Barker, 43; and the unnamed 16-year-old brother of Garcia-Boettler.

The mother of Garcia-Boettler, Crystal Rachelle Boettler, is also being charged with being an accessory after the fact.

According to WJLA, the 16-year old is being charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, unlawful removal of a dead body, desecration of a human corpse, and possessing a firearm after delinquent adjudication. Garcia-Boettler is charged with accessory after the fact and unlawful removal of a dead body. Barker is charged with accessory after the fact, unlawful removal of a dead body and desecration of a human corpse.

Garcia-Boettler and his brother were going to meet up with Smith and Moreland to buy a gun they saw for sale on Craigslist but called the deal off when they “heard a gun being racked,” according to Sgt. Jeremy Lewis from the Moore Police Department.

After the 16-year-old Garcia-Boettler had killed the men, the brothers met with Barker at a nearby house to dispose of the bodies. After removing and burning the men’s clothes, they tied cinder blocks to the men’s bodies and threw them in the pond.

Tragically, Jarron Moreland leaves behind a grieving family and a young son. Moreland’s grandmother Bobbie Moreland says Moreland was a “very, very good daddy. He took care of his little boy and the boy is going to be lost without his daddy.”
