Autopsy: Tamir Rice death ruled a homicide
The death of a 12-year-old Cleveland boy who was fatally wounded by a police officer as he played in a park has been ruled a homicide.
Tamir Rice, […] died from a “gunshot wound of torso with injuries of major vessel, intestines and pelvis,” according to an autopsy released on Friday. […]
The African American boy was fatally shot by a white Cleveland police officer on Nov. 22. Officers had responded to a 911 call reporting a person pointing a gun — which turned out to be a toy pistol missing its orange safety cap. Video footage of the shooting shows Officer Timothy Loehmann, 26, shooting Tamir within seconds of arriving on the scene.
The death being ruled a homicide could mean very little for justice. A little more than a week ago, a grand jury decided not to indict an NYPD who fatally wounded Eric Garner, a 43-year-old unarmed Staten Island man, whose death was also ruled a homicide.

May justice be served.
