Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby Receives Death Threats
Marilyn Mosby, Baltimore City’s State’s Attorney, has come under fire for charging six officers in the death of Freddie Gray, many of which have been acquitted in court. But recent reports have revealed that her career isn’t the only thing being threatened. Now, she’s reportedly receiving multiple death threats.
According to WBAL, the hate mail Mosby’s office has gotten is so serious that they’ve had to publicly comment on it.
“Our office has received, and she has personally received, a number of offensive and extremely disturbing, racist, sexist hate mail, and even death threats,” Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Rochelle Ritchie said.
One method that people are turning to is sharing fake news accounts that detail false attacks on Mosby and her husband.
“This is unbelievable, and it’s absolutely unacceptable. Anybody who would author these kinds of attacks needs to be prosecuted to the highest extent of the law,” Baltimore City Delegate Cheryl Glenn said.
Fortunately, the messages viewed as personal threats against Mosby are all being investigated and the necessary steps will be taken following any leads.
“State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby will not be deterred by these attacks. She is going to continue to pursue justice,” Ritchie said.
