Church conference under fire for Blackface boxing skit
Organizers of the National Young Fundamentalists Conference are the latest group to come under fire for a boxing match skit involving blackface.
Joseph Pickens, a pastor’s assistant, took a picture of himself dressed as Mr. T and posted the image to his Twitter page. It has sense been delete.
Pastor Jeff Fugate, who oversaw the event at the Clay Mills Road Baptist Church, profusely apologized for the offensive display, pleading ignorance. “I apologize if I offended someone, I don’t even know as a pastor what those skits will be,” he said.
