Columbus Short axed from ‘Scandal’
After portraying Harrison Wright a.k.a. “brother Pope” on the hit ABC television show Scandal for three seasons, actor Columbus Short will no longer appear on the show.
Short, 31, released the following statement about his departure from the show on Friday.
“At this time I must confirm my exit from a show I’ve called home for 3 years, with what is the most talented ensemble on television today,” Short said in the statement obtained by Entertainment Weekly.
“Everything must come to an end and unfortunately the time has come for (my character) Harrison Wright to exit the canvas.”

Short had been slapped with a string of domestic violence claims from his wife Tanee McCall in recent months. Writers for the show did not say whether Short’s personal life influenced his exit.
In the season finale of season three, Short’s character faced an uncertain future. In a cliffhanger, Harrison was staring down the barrel of a gun from a would-be assassin.
