As someone who, to my knowledge, has no claim on any sort of Native American lineage, I realize it isn’t exactly within my lane to speak on some related subjects.

However, I would like someone to let me know why these fresh-off-the-Mayflower lookin’ snow-skins think they can claim Native ancestry and think it somehow gives them a pass to speak over Black and brown people.

I need someone to educate me on why people who happily, by default, camouflage into whiteness will suddenly feel the need to gather what little seasoning they can find to claim Spicy White and feel this affords them a say on how we should be navigating anti-Blackness.

I’d really like someone to baby-step me through where these people who live their lives identifying as white, despite claiming to be one sixty-fourth of a whole-ass Cherokee (or whichever tribe happens to come to mind), find the pale-ass audacity to think this is enough to grant them an aversion to white privilege.

I swear when we’re not dealing with white people using the Irish to talk over us, it’s these so-called descendents of “Cherokee Princesses” thinking their weak-ass uncited 23andMe results are enough to grant them a seat at our table and weigh in on our culture.
