If folks really cared about fat people’s health, we as a whole would be a lot more vocal about the blatant misinformation that gets passed around as nutritional guidelines… the terrible shit people go through physically and mentally to try and obtain and maintain thinness. But it’s usually CRICKETS on that.
It took me until well into my 20’s to learn that calories and fat are literally an essential part of daily nutrient intake, even though we are taught to avoid them like bad credit. Did you know that an intake of fat is needed to absorb nutrients? Many so-called nutrition “experts” and people who are “giving weight-loss tips” will even suggest diets that will put people into a state of calorie deficiency—something that’ll fuck up your metabolism and muscle tissue.

All lessons aside, different diets affect everyone differently and this is treated as a flippant “your results may vary” aside to diet suggestions, when we should be saying that shit WAY louder.
People are out here fainting from overexhaustion, getting heart conditions and stress-induced mental illnesses because they are listening to these crunchy ~*Live Laugh Love*~ Instagram gym-rats who think that having a cup of powdered almonds is a “cheat day”.
There is such a thing as Gym Addiction, and yet I can count on one hand the number of times I have seen it addressed. Meanwhile, fat people get harassed constantly.
Folks push all this false information on fat people, but I have yet to see these same folks acknowledge folks who are underweight. Let alone call out how our culture encourages people to have abusive relationships with food, starving and stressing themselves into poor health.
