Congressman calls for shutdown, leads march against it
What political party calls for a shutdown and then gets upset at the institutions affected by it? The grand ole Tea Party does. What was supposed to be a march in opposition of Obamacare, turned into an all-out bashing of the president.
Veterans and anti-Obama demonstrators occupied White House and other landmarks Sunday in protest of monuments being closed due to the shutdown.
The “Million Vet March on Memorials” rally was headlined by Sen. Ted Cruz who advocated for the government’s closing.
Larry Klayman, of the right wing group Freedom Watch, spoke at the event and didn’t waste any time infusing the event with conspiracy theories. “I call upon all of you to wage a second American nonviolent revolution, to use civil disobedience, and to demand that this president leave town, to get up, to put the Quran down, to get up off his knees, and to figuratively come out with his hands up,” Klayman told the crowd.
Tea Party Congressman Randy Neugebauer tried to make a Park Ranger apologize for the memorial being shutdown.
Republicans threatened a government shutdown because they wanted Obama to negotiate Obamacare. The law was passed by Congress, signed by the president and codified by the Supreme Court earlier this year.
Thoughts on the rally?
Klayman referring to the president as a Muslim?
