In response to comedian D.L. Hughley’s indignation over the fact that he doesn’t vote, rapper Lupe Fiasco has issued a challenge:

Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco used Twitter to respond to comments made by comedian D.L. Hughley over Lupe’s reluctance to participate in the upcoming presidential election. He attempted to reason and explain why President Obama needs key factors bigger than the Hip Hop community to achieve re-election.

“Obama need swing states and white people not radical rappers kissing his ass to win this election..,’ he tweeted September 17th.

“If y’all stop bringing it to me I won’t answer and y’all can be happy with y’all way of thinking and I can be happy with mine.. #LeeMeAlone”

“I vote for Grace Lee Boggs….put her on the ballot and i’d finance the campaign my d*mn self @realdlhughley do u even know who she is???”

“Better yet @RealDLHughley you put up 50k and I’ll put up 50k and let’s flesh out some programs for rural & inner city youths our d*mn selves”

“And we aint got to wait till November or be part of a party to do that…what u think brother? F*ck all this talk let’s get it in my n*gga..” (Lupe Fiasco’s Twitter)

D.L. Hughley attacked Lupe and said that his disinterest in the election process could negatively effect potential voters.
