Gina Prince-Bythewood and Gugu Mbatha-Raw came together to create a lasting and enjoyable film in Beyond the Lights (2014). Now, fans of the romance can prepare themselves for the pair to come together again to hopefully make an even better film. The two are teaming up to bring An Untamed State, a novel written by Roxane Gay, to the big screen, according to Deadline.

The novel is Gay’s first and tells the story of a Haitian woman of privilege being kidnapped in front of her family and held for a ransom her affluent father refuses to pay. The story goes on to focus on her survival after being taken prisoner for 13 days and the aftermath that follows.

The film will be produced by Michael De Luca, who has produced three Academy Award nominated films in The Social Network, Moneyball and Captain Phillips.
