So, it’s not like we know much about #B6 as so many members of the Beyhive have coined it, but we are here to compile a list of all that we do know. Are you ready?

February 6, 2016: Beyoncé released her song “Formation” accompanied with the official music video. The song was immediately available to download via Tidal, as she does have a partial ownership in the company, and the music video was uploaded on Beyoncé’s official website via private YouTube video on her personal account. The marketing for the song began on Beyoncé’s Instagram, and then spread rapidly through social media and word-of-mouth. Her song just happened to be released the day before she was scheduled to perform at Super Bowl 50.

February 7, 2016: The day after she dropped the first single in two years that broke the Internet, she performed that exact same song “Formation” during her collaboration performance with Bruno Mars and Coldplay’s Chris Martin at Super Bowl 50. To no one’s surprise, her performance sparked major backlash from those not “down for the cause. She also announced her “Formation World Tour” which let everyone know that an album was coming.

…and then the world got quiet, awaiting for the next Beyhive explosion.

April 4, 2016: We waited two months for the next surprise from the queen, which was a rare interview and cover story on Elle, which was distributed worldwide where she talked about Ivy Park (her newest venture with Topshop), feminism, and the pressure of perfectionism. A few days before the full cover story came out, Beyoncé launched Ivy Park, an activewear clothing line which is a joint venture between Beyoncé and Topshop, which was originally set for the Fall of 2015.

April 14, 2016: Ivy Park was released to everyone, as it quickly sold out online, but not so much in stores, especially in New York City.

…and then we kept waiting…

April 16, 2016: While we all anxiously waited for the album, Beyoncé put out an advertisement for what seems to be a project called LEMONADE which will premiere on HBO on April 23, 2016 at 9P EST and 6P PST. The advertisement was picked up so quickly, and everyone got excited that this might be the album, but is it? A day later, she put out a longer trailer, which was just as cryptic.

So, I’m not sure what any of this means, but I do know that we need to watch on April 23 in order to see what’s going on.
