Issa Rae, the writer and star of the wildly successful webseries, The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl, has gotten a boost from Shonda Rhimes, the black woman behind ABC primetime faves Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal.

I Hate L.A. Dudes, a comedy conceived by Rae, has been sold to ABC; Rhimes will serve as executive producer:

I Hate L.A. Dudes centers on an aspiring journalist, new to Los Angeles, who becomes the lone female voice on a budding, male-driven internet talk show, while learning to decode the often humiliating and exasperating rules of the LA dating scene.
