Kimye sues YouTube for leaked proposal video
It can be argued (quite easily), that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are fans of the spotlight, but one memorable moment has landed the founder of YouTube in a lawsuit.
Kimye filed a lawsuit Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court against Chad Hurley for releasing highlights from Kanye’s proposal on Oct. 21.
West asked Kardashian to marry him during a private event at San Francisco’s AT&T Park.
West and Kardashian probably have a case against Hurley because he, like all the guests at the engagement party, was forced to sign a confidentially agreement when he showed up at the park. The billionaire wasn’t personally invited; he tagged along with one of the other guests and was only allowed to stay after signing the document promising not to breathe a word about it. Lawyers for West and Kardashian claim he taped and then released the footage to promote MixBit, his new start-up.
West and Kardashian requested actual and punitive damages for Hurley’s violation of the agreement. The amount is unspecified.
