Officer Indicted for Murder of Anthony Hill
An Atlanta area grand jury has indicted a police officer who shot an unarmed naked man.
On Thursday, January 21, 2016, an indictment was made against Officer Robert Olsen of the DeKalb County Police Department, which included murder.
Olsen shot 27-year-old Anthony Hill on March 9, 2015 after he was responding to a call of a man who was behaving irregularly outside a suburban Atlanta apartment complex. Hill was naked, as well. The DeKalb County District Attorney presented all cases involving shootings by police officers to a grand jury who recommend whether the case should be considered for criminal prosecution.
In October, the grand jury saw inconsistencies with the evidence and wanted prosecutors to look further into the case. The attorney, Robert James, announced earlier in January that he would be seeking indictment.
James said that Olsen is expected to go into custody soon.
