What was supposed to be a powerful photo series honoring black female civil rights leaders and historical figures has now turned into a coffee table book.

The “Because of Them, We Can” campaign features images of young girls posing as black icons. Released last year, the series went viral, striking a nerve in those who realize how important it is to teach our youth about the past.
