According to a recent report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 25 percent of black homes were food insecure in 2011.

In other words, 1 in 4 African American households did not know where their next meal was coming from.

From Loop21:

African-American households with children were hit harder than the U.S. population as a whole. While 20.6 percent of all households with children were food insecure, 29.2 percent of African-American households with children were food insecure.”
