Rihanna makes history by receiving first-ever “AMA Icon” Award
At the end of this month, Rihanna will make history by becoming the recipient of the first-ever American Music Awards Icon award.
Winners of the awards, which will air live on November 24 on ABC, are determined by fans.
She joins a heavy-hitting lineup: Luke Bryan, Miley Cyrus, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Imagine Dragons, Kendrick Lamar, Jennifer Lopez, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, One Direction, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake and TLC. With Pitbull as the host, the awards show is bound to be a good time.
The six-time AMA winner will compete in four categories at this year’s ceremony, including artist of the year and favorite soul/R&B album for “Unapologetic.”
The singer celebrated her 25th top-10 hit on the Hot 100 with “The Monster,” a collaboration she did with rapper Eminem. The feat tied her with Elvis Presley on the all-time list.
