TLC performs with Lil Mama for AMAs
On the heels of critical acclaim for her portrayal of late TLC member Lisa “LeftEye” Lopes in the recent biopic CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, hip hop artist Lil Mama joined the remaining members of the hit 90s R&B girl group for a one-time performance at this year’s American Music Awards.
T-Boz, Chilli and Lil Mama performed one of the group’s most well-known tunes, “Waterfalls” on Sunday. After the performance, which received a standing ovation, media outlets questioned T-Boz and Chilli about whether or not Lil Mama would “replace” LeftEye.
The duo was very vocal in their rejection of the notion, noting that while Lil Mama was a great actress, she and no one else would ever be invited to join the group.
